Community Children’s Clinic

Mission Statement

We are a ministry providing compassionate, affordable health care to children of Midland County families experiencing income challenges.

About the Clinic

We offer medical care to families who fall in the gap. Our services help families who are hard-working, but for whom insurance remains too expensive. For a nominal fee of $20, patients receive an evaluation by a physician. If this medical examination indicates the need for lab work or x-rays, these are included without additional charge. Medications prescribed are supplied by our in-house pharmacy. When the patient has needs beyond the scope of our services, covering the cost, we refer the child to a specialist. All children living in Midland County families who are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty guidelines (who do not have Medicaid or who are uninsured or under-insured) are eligible for our services. The children we serve range in age from seven months to 18 years. We provide health care for children when they need it, not when their family can afford it.

The Mission and Vision That Guide the Community Children’s Clinic

Established in 1983, the Community Children’s Clinic was founded with a clear and visionary purpose—to deliver compassionate, affordable medical care to sick children from families grappling with income challenges in Midland County. Rooted in ministry, the clinic’s mission transcends mere medical assistance; it aims to lovingly support the holistic well-being of underprivileged children, ensuring they receive the care and attention necessary to thrive.

Offering a Helping Hand: Services and Support

The clinic's offerings are diverse and tailored to the acute medical needs of children, particularly those arising from childhood illnesses and injuries. It represents a safety net for low-income families, providing a range of healthcare services that ensure no child is left behind due to financial constraints. Significantly, the Community Children's Clinic operates without any state or federal funding, relying instead on the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community support to continue its noble pursuit.

Volunteers and Community Involvement

Volunteers play a critical role in the lifeblood of the clinic, contributing countless hours towards the care of Midland’s children. The clinic’s model thrives on community involvement, inviting skilled professionals and compassionate individuals to join their ranks, helping in various capacities, from medical services to administrative support. This collective community effort underscores a powerful message of unity and shared responsibility for the well-being of society’s youngest members.

How You Can Contribute

The clinic’s life-changing work relies heavily on the generosity of individuals and organizations. Donations are a crucial pillar supporting the clinic’s operations, helping to cover medical supplies, operational costs, and the expansion of services to reach more children in need. Volunteering your time or expertise can also make an immense difference, be it through direct medical assistance or support in other areas such as fundraising and awareness campaigns.

Stories of Hope and Healing

Behind every service offered by the Community Children's Clinic are stories of real impact—families given hope, children’s health restored, and the alleviation of financial burdens for parents walking through difficult times. Through its comprehensive care model, the clinic not only addresses immediate health concerns but also contributes to the long-term well-being and development of children. These success stories are a testament to the clinic's pivotal role in the community and the collective impact of volunteers and donors.
